THE LONG STORY

This project’s palette draws from the calming, cool tones of the Pacific, contrasting with the raw textures of concrete and steel that define the modern structure. A striking feature wall, crafted from 1/4” thick laser-cut steel mapping San Diego, connects the interiors to the local landscape, with brass dowels marking landscapes accessible on foot or bike. Controlled undulating surfaces and layered color densities create visual intrigue, especially in the lobby, where walls and ceilings flow seamlessly, transforming at night with dynamic reflections. Warm redwood panels add a welcoming contrast to the sleek, modern design, achieving an open, airy, and youthful aesthetic.
